Start your next career chapter with Manheim Industrial, a leader in the auctioneering industry. We’re looking for a Victorian Operations Manager to lead yard and operational performance at our Altona Industrial site, with broader accountability across Victoria.

This senior leadership role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient and productive yard operations, optimising stock flow through the auction cycle, and delivering strong commercial outcomes. You’ll work closely with Sales, Buyers, Transport partners and internal business stakeholders to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity for an operations specialist to shape and grow their career, bringing strong operations management fundamentals and best practice, whether from the auction industry or another operational environment, to drive innovation, deliver value, and make a real impact in auction and remarketing.

With a strong focus on operational excellence, safety, and efficiency, you will:

· Lead end-to-end yard and operational management at the Altona site, overseeing staff resourcing, safety and compliance, yard capacity, and day-to-day performance to maximise productivity, efficiency, and cost control.

· Manage stock through the full auction and remarketing cycle, ensuring accurate receipting, storage, movement, presentation, and dispatch, while maintaining high levels of stock accuracy, real-time visibility, and auction readiness.

· Maintain relationships with logistics and transport operators, managing third-party transport providers by influencing pickups and deliveries to minimise congestion, double handling, and delays.

· Drive commercial and operational performance, working with other Manheim operational functions, reporting on stock, productivity, and efficiency, and working closely with sales and buyers to identify slow-moving stock and implement corrective actions to optimise yard capacity.

· Embed continuous improvement and standardisation, developing and implementing operating procedures, applying consistent and repeatable practices across other business units and the National Industrial Operation, and using data and on-the-ground insights to identify inefficiencies, address root causes, and improve operational outcomes.

What We’re Looking For:

· Proven operational leadership experience across logistics, yard, warehouse, or industrial environments, with a strong understanding of managing capacity, logistics coordination, stock control, and inventory accuracy; experience in auction, automotive, transport, manufacturing, or production environments is highly regarded.

· Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, supported by strong problem-solving capability and a proactive, hands-on leadership style. You will have to get your hands dirty.

· Commercially minded and KPI driven, with experience managing performance metrics and translating operational reporting and insights into practical improvements.

· Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, including effective engagement with third-party service providers and other business unit operational functions.

· High commitment to safety, compliance, and safe systems of work, with confidence using operational systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
